BREAKING NEWS: President to address nation Monday on immigration

The President is set to announce that he will call on the National Guard to man the U.S.-Mexico border (it's about time) in a speech to the nation Monday night.

All the while, he will continue pushing for amnesty for the illegal aliens who are already inside the country.

David,
Do you really think that anything the man has to say is going to change anything? Do you really think anything he says about anything is going to change anything?
With polls below 30% he's going to be ignored at best and ridiculed at worst.

I think it depends on what he says, Steve. If it is "I am deploying a couple thousand Guardsmen, but other than that, nothing will fundamentally change," then I expect he'll be ignored.

If he starts saying "I hear you, you want serious action, let's do it," he may be able to salvage something.

David,
What did you think? As you know, or at least suspect, Pres. Bush starts from a deficit with me so I really wasn't that impressed.
I should've skipped it and cleaned my kitchen.
