St. John Lateran
Today marks the anniversary of the dedication of the Lateran Basilica (The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lord and Saviour and St. John the Baptist) in Rome. It is celebrated as a feast day throughout the Universal Church, as the Lateran Basilica is the Cathedral church of the Bishop of Rome, and thus is "the Mother Church of Rome and all the World."Labels: Faith, Holy Mother Church
