A Faulkin' Majority

And here I thought Mike Faulk was ruined:

TN Senate District 4
Precincts Reporting: 100% (81 of 81)
Winner Candidate Incumbent Votes Vote %
X Mike Faulk (R)
29417 50%

Mike Williams (I) X 29171 50%

Congratulations to Mike Faulk. He was far from the perfect candidate, but his opponent was far worse. Further, based on my experience with Mike, I believe he will be a responsive Senator, ready to answer constituents' needs. I believe this not only because he had a good rapport with supporters during his campaign, but also (let's face it) because his margin of victory was too thin to be angering his constituents.

Something tells me our former State Senator could have some kind of job in the Bredesen Administration

Really? Faulkin? I'm sure Jesus is pleased. Maybe that's why you guys lost. Too much sin in your party. Isn't that why you guys say Katrina and 9/11 happened? Can't wait to see what happens to Vegas...

Oh, Dave! Come on, man. Responsive to constituents? Responsive like he was to someone else's wife? Good rapport? I've heard affairs called lots of things, but never good rapport. Ready to answer constituents needs? Hmmm. You got me on this one. He does do that. Mark these words, big guy: Mike Faulk will be the worst senator ever to come out of this district. He's a liar going in; my prediction is he'll be a liar coming out.

I like you, Dave. I respect you, but we'll have to disagree on this one. Any man who can't admit his sins isn't a man, but a liar.

Will it never end? Someday we'll get a good guy in that spot. Will you run in 2012?

Anon;
Obviously you aren't from Tennessee...we sure didn't lose here. Republicans now control both Houses of the State Legislature for the first time since Reconstruction. We had a very good night and have no reason to cry.

Vera;
Will you hold Mike Williams to the same standard? If so, be prepared for a long confessional...

As much as "Real America" keeps trying to secede from the Union again, its not going to happen. Her name is the United States of America. Wait aren't you the ones that yell at the top of your lungs to "Love it or Leave it!". Why don't you guys follow your own advice?

Dave,

Be glad to hold Williams to those standards. Williams is an odd bird but he did lots for this district. Faulk will do something to embarass this district before it's over.Did you notice that the vote count was close in Hawkins County? The place that knows Faulk best. In those parts, most people know at least one person he's screwed, literally.I hope the schools down there get wind of his arrival.He has a married mother/teacher fetish, and I'm not talking about the one already divulged. The man barks, I'm telling you.

Hang in there. It's hard to break into local politics. Run again now that your name is around town. I'm counting on you.

Vera
