Question of the Weekend: Haslam's millions
In the last couple of weeks, I've discussed the controversy from a couple of our Republican gubernatorial candidates in Tennessee over Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam's income from Pilot Travel Centers, LLC, and Haslam's refusal to fully declare that income. Bill Haslam has said that making his Pilot income public would bring the financial affairs of other members of his family into public view who are not seeking political office, and would also reveal proprietary information about Pilot that should be kept under wraps. You need only look at the Haslam website and go to the "Ambassadors."
Private equity, finance and real estate. Bill Haslam's brother-in-law is Pinnacle Financial (headquartered in Nashville). The entire management team at Pinnacle are $5000+ donors.
Pilot sent letters to vendors about sending donations. These people are corrupt.
