Steelers 21, Colts 18

Well, once again Peyton Manning couldn't win "the big game." Around here, Manning's lack of ability to win when it really matters is well known.

It almost gives me some small good feeling about the Bengals losing to the Steelers...they were good enough to beat the Colts.

David,

Well, I tried to tell you that it would happen. Peyton Manning failing in the playoffs is about as certain as the sun rising in the East each morning. There were two quarterbacks on the field today, and the best one was not Peyton Manning.

If the Colts couldn't win the Super Bowl this year, with as good a team as they had, I can't imagine when they'll ever win one. It's a shame, really -- there are quite a few players on that roster who deserve much better.

As for Manning himself, he ought to learn to be a better loser. In post-game comments, he was quoted as saying that he didn't want to be a bad teammate, but he did not receive proper protection during the game. While I wouldn't disagree with him, Manning didn't exactly have a perfect game himself, so it's dishonorable for him to throw blame at the feet of his teammates so soon after the loss.

Finally, now that the Bengals and Colts are out of the mix, I hope you will join me in rooting on the Steelers to a Super Bowl victory in 3 weeks. Oh, what a party we will have in Findlay when that happens :)
