History Repeats Itself

History, it seems, does tend to repeat itself-especially in politics:

Few people called former Governor and House Speaker Ned Ray McWherter any names for owning a Budweiser distributorship, as does his son, the current Democratic nominee for Governor. Those who did try to use that against McWherter found the tactic backfire severely. There are some issues (as Cagle rightly points out) with the reality that Bill Haslam has business interests that are regulated by the State, but there are also few businesses that are not regulated by the State in the day and age in which we find ourselves.
