David,
The Jimi Hendrix version was/is better. Jimi also served in the Army. Nugent served ... oh, sorry, nevermind.

Ted Nugent is certainly a Repbublic party role model. A paragon of virtue! A model of self restraint! An example for our children!

Clean, christian living songs!
- Wang Dang Sweet Poontang
- Harder They Come, The (The Harder I Get)
- Yank Me, Crank Me
- My Love Is Like A Tire Iron
- Jailbait

Clean, family oriented lyrics!
"Wang dang, what a sweet poontang
a shakin' my thang as a rang-a-dang-dang in the bell
Down on the street you know she can't be beat
She's so sweet when she yanks on my meat
What the hell"

"I make the pussy purr with
The stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go
When they need their lovin man
They know I do it for free"

Clean, christian values!

- Married 3 times! (Apparently a strong believer in the sanctity of marriage!)
- When he was 30 years old, he was dating a 17 year old girl!
- In 2005, Nugent was involved in a legal battle for not paying enough child support for a child he had out of wedlock in 1995. It was finally resolved when Nugent was ordered to pay $3,500 a month to the mother of the 10 year old son that Nugent has allegedly never met. (oops!)

I can see why the Republic party and the conservatives want to associate with this guy - he's a perfect reflection of their values!

Anonymous... wow, you are really intelligent. I mean you know so much about Christianity. It is amazing you point out all these faults of Ted Nugent, trust me I know them, in fact the whole world does. However you seem to forget in all of your wisdom of God's word that one can be forgiven of their sins. But then again that is to easy of a concept to understand and quite frankly gets in the way of your liberal agenda.

Lee,

I know a lot about Christianity - 45 years as a Southern Baptist has drilled a lot into my brain. The one thing I do know is that one has to seek redemption - and there's no indication that Ted Nugent has ever sought that redemption. I also know that it's one's deeds, not words that you are judged by. That's why I'm try to point out the hypocrisy of many of these so-called conservative Christians. These people who practice hate and not love, who condemn and not forgive.... These people who give Christians a bad name.

Here's my liberal agenda Lee - Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Oh, and this little nugget about Ted:

At a stop on his "Love Grenade 2007 Shrapnel Tour," rocker Ted Nugent tossed some rhetorical bombs at a few top Democrats, joking about executing the most prominent African American politician in a generation.

"Obama, he's a piece of shit, and I told him to suck on my machine gun," Nugent said in front of a screaming crowd as he brandishes what appear to be two large assault rifles. He was referring to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination and would become the first black man to occupy the Oval Office.

In a video from a recent performance posted on LiveLeak, Nugent, a prominent pro-gun advocate, paced the stage with a machine gun in each hand as the crowd eggs on his increasingly vulgar tirades.

"Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset you worthless bitch," Nugent said, brandishing his weapons.

He also went after Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), suggesting she, too, might like to "suck on my machine gun." Nugent's tirade against California's other Democratic Senator, Diane Feinstein, is too garbled to transcribe, but one can hear Nugent call her a "whore."

Wow! Now those are some clean, Christian values.

Lee, tell me again about how little I know about Christianity. I know enough to know these ain't them.
