A Thought on the Swearing In
Well, it wasn't a great speech, there wasn't anything in it that we will remember in 20 years...but it was a good speech. For the most part, it was relatively tame. Further, I am struck by what seems to be a genuine cordiality between the Bushes and the Obamas, they seem to have gotten to know one another in the course of the transition and they seem to get on well.Chief Justice Roberts did not bring a card and flubbed the oath. I would guess that Obama repeated the oath privately to make it official.
Ted Kennedy collapsed during the Inaugural Luncheon in Statuary Hall, and the state of his condition isn't quite known.
