The Knife Is Coming

In the midst of a worldwide economic downturn, the Tennessee General Assembly will be forced to do what they should have done last year:


Sure enough, Tennessee Comptroller Justin P. Wilson, a seemingly quiet fellow who has not appeared to be prone to wild political speculation now warns that the fiscal trainwreck is coming next year, and we had all better batton down the hatches, because it is likely that no corner of State government will not suffer the impact of the cuts that will be necessary. In the end, that means that those bearing the brunt of this new economic reality will be you and I. Couldn't the General Assembly have done something to prevent this. Yes, they could have made cuts last year rather than use the stimulus money to pay recurring expenses.
