The Fred 'rumors'

The rumors have been flying all over the blogosphere for a few days now that Fred Thompson may be considering a run for President, but Howard Baker confirmed this morning that he is encouraging Thompson to run and making calls on his behalf.

Howard Baker is an awfully big gun.

I also discuss the coming Bloggers' Day On the Hill in Nashville.

Dave,
I just heard Fred is seriously considering a run, so he has (apparently) changed his mind from when I asked him around Xmas time.

I probably need to quit saying Al won't run because he has told me 3 times since the summer he can't imagine anything that would make him run.

I am surprised about Fred. After his daughter passed, he wanted nothing to do with politics. Maybe a few years out in Los Angeles made him realize politics is easy compared to Hollywood!

Shrugging shoulders...
Sharon

(PS--Fred's a nice person)

Sharon;
Fred Thompson could be the perfect candidate. He is solidly conservative, but more importantly he has been out of government for the last seven years. None of the problems of the current administration of the previous Congress can be pinned on Fred Thompson.

And he's somebody that can get the Dems to deal with him.
